According to the Racing Rules of Sailing, to which we adhere for the purposes of creating a valid and fair sail racing event, we must issue competitors with both a Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions

Notice of Race

The Notice of Race (NoR) is high level information and essentially invites competitors to compete. This will include details like dates, location, entry details, classes, and basic rules. It is published before the event so sailors can decide to enter.

Sailing Instructions

The Sailing Instructions (SI’s) are a more detailed guide on how the race will be run. This is essentially the set of rules and features that make up the race and how it will be scored. This includes information on how points may be scored or lost.

Course Instructions

The Course Instructions (CIs) are Section 3 of the Sailing Instructions (SIs) and are given to competitors in a timely fashion before a race. They define the waypoints of the Race and how it must be sailed. They also includes the start and finish lines, exclusion zones and details of scoring gates and ocean sprints.

Special Guidance Notes

Special guidance notes and protocol for Orca interactions around the Iberian Coasts.

For each stage, competitors will also be issued with a set of individual Course Instructions or CI's. This is a detailed document on the exact route to follow, start and finish line detail , exclusion zones and the location of Race features.
