This landmark partnership will make history when the Clipper Race fleet arrives in Tongyeong in spring 2026—the first time a round-the-world sailing event visits Korea.
Known as the ‘Naples of the East’, Tongyeong’s mild climate and 500+ islands make it a prime marine tourism hub. Team Tongyeong will showcase the city internationally as one of Gyeongnam Province’s top destinations, while the Gyeongnam Sailing Federation uses the partnership to raise sailing’s profile and expand Korea’s marine leisure sector.

Brian’s sailing journey began with a transatlantic crossing with his father. Now qualified to RYA Yachtmaster Ocean and full-time sailing instructor, he’s also completed the ARC, Fastnet, Round Ireland, and Cape2Rio. Formerly a tech engineer, Brian brings passion and experience as Clipper First Mate, aiming to guide his crew and challenge for podium finishes.
